In this conversation, artist in residence Bethany Collins and contemporary classical music composer, Nico Muhly will discuss the (im)possibilities of language within their practices as well as Collins's work on view in Material Histories. The conversation will explore Collins's and Muhly's views on linguistics and semiotics and interrogate the use of language as a primary form of expression that influences their distinct, yet related practices. The conversation will include a multimedia presentation and will conclude with a question and answer segment.
